Aims
- To give an overview of the therapy principles that contribute to the management of an adult with an acute spinal cord injury. The course will include an introduction to respiratory care and acute management, early rehabilitation, advice on complications and functional outcomes, posture and seating as well as an overview of long term management.
- The course is aimed at Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff working in referring hospitals, the community or rehabilitation centres wishing to improve their knowledge of working with spinal cord injury patients.
- Both days will have practical sessions including separate profession-specific workshops.
