Spine Surgeries & Fusions with Alastair Greetham

This course, developed by Polestar founder and president, Dr. Brent Anderson, will take you through an 8-hour exploration of spine surgery and how we as Pilates teachers can implement Pilates safely and effectively with a desired outcome to improve quality of life following invasive spinal procedures. Special emphasis will be focused on Pre-hab, Re-hab, Post Re-hab and wellness interventions in the Pilates environment for the spine surgery patient. Participants will learn how to create modifications when working with cervical and lumbar fusion patients, as well as full spine fusions for scoliosis.

Following this 8-hour course, participants will:
Understand the most popular cervical and lumbar spine fusion surgeries
Discover how to design specific programs in preparation for surgery
Design programs for rehabilitation and post-rehabilitation
Design continued care and wellness programs for spine surgery patients
Understand the full benefits of successful movement experiences without pain - physically, mentally and spiritually
Prerequisites: Successful completion of the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Series OR a comparable comprehensive Pilates teacher training; OR licensed medical or rehabilitation professional OR physical therapist.
