The course aims to give an overview of the therapy principles that contribute to the management of an adult with an acute spinal cord injury.
The course is aimed at Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists working in referring hospitals, the community or rehabilitation centres wishing to improve their knowledge of working with spinal cord injury patients.
Both days will have practical sessions including separate workshops for Therapists on the Saturday. The course will include an introduction to respiratory care and acute management, early rehabilitation, advice on complications and functional outcomes, posture and seating as well as an overview of long term management.
